Job Overview

The Copywriter crafts compelling content across multiple platforms, delivering clear, engaging copy for UX, email, app, web, and SMS, ensuring a seamless experience for restaurant owners, loyalty members, and diners. This role collaborates closely with design, email, partner, and product teams to develop messaging that resonates across both B2B and B2C audiences. Through short-form UX copy or long-form content, this position delivers work that informs and engage our audiences, driving action.

Become a creative Copywriter at a fast-growing FinTech company, a highly energized workspace where all departments come together to help local restaurants grow, while partnering with some of the biggest loyalty programs in the world. We use data-driven insights to guide our work, but we also believe in a healthy dose of creativity as we strive to transform the restaurant marketing landscape. We’re looking for a strong copywriter who has experience in short and long-form writing across both the B2B and B2C arenas. Crafting compelling content that informs, engages, and ultimately fuels conversion will be the driving force behind much of your work. If you think you’re up for it, read on.     

This is a hybrid position and requires in office presence 2 days a week in Chicago. 

What you’ll bring to the table: (Responsibilities)  

There’s no “typical day” in your job because every day is a new medium, a new message, a new target, and a new chance to push the copy boundaries. You’ll pivot between B2B, B2C, and internal communications at a fluid pace. Here are a few things you will be expected to deliver consistently: 

  • Produce written copy for a variety of audiences, including restaurant owners and dining members, while adhering to multiple brand guidelines for some of the leading names in loyalty and ensuring all communications stay “on brand” for each of our many partners
  • Create copy for numerous mediums, including but not limited to email, SMS, app, web, content resource library, and sales collateral
  • Present copy and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers and write with empathy and insight, showcasing your knowledge of our offerings
  • Manage multiple short-term and long-term deliverables/timelines effectively
  • Conduct thorough research to support content development
  • Work closely with marketing, design, and product teams to align messaging with business goals
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the restaurant industry (including evolving dining guidelines, the latest foodie trends, and hot restaurant openings) to help reaffirm Rewards Network’s place as a thought leader and industry expert

Do you have the right mix of ingredients: (Requirements)  

  • 3+ years of copywriting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in writing or related field
  • Digital portfolio with examples of both long and short-form content
  • Project management software experience (preferably Asana)
  • Skilled in writing clear, concise, engaging, and grammatically correct copy
  • Ability to write across a variety of channels, including, but not limited to web, email, blogs, case studies, white papers, SMS, and social media
  • Exacting attention to detail, whether it’s copy or staying true to a brand’s tone and style 
  • Knowledge of copywriting for app placements and SEO-optimized content
  • Strong attention to detail for copy editing and proofreading
  • Extensive familiarity with AP style guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to review existing materials, capture appropriate in‐house resources, and identify research opportunities
  • Ability to generate and develop creative marketing ideas
  • Experience following brand style guidelines
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities for multiple stakeholders and business partners
  • App copywriting experience
  • SEO content best practices
  • Long- and short-form writing skills

Education, Certifications and Experience: Preferred

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the digital marketing industry; restaurant industry experience a plus
  • Well-versed in Google Analytics
