Role

Reorg Research, a rapidly growing tech-powered financial news and data company and leader in private credit, leveraged finance and distressed debt news and analysis, is seeking highly motivated reporters to join our Deal Origination and Private Credit team.

This is a unique opportunity to join an established team of financial journalists to cover one of the fastest growing parts of the European LBO market - direct lending. You will be expected to consistently generate leads on private equity buyouts and stay on top on the most topical deals in your beat. Reporting focuses on private equity auction processes, deal financing, refinancing, dividend recaps, as well as pitching thematic analysis and industry trend pieces.

Knowledge of and contacts in private credit, LevFin, private equity and advisory community are preferred. European languages are considered an advantage.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently source and deliver proprietary news on large and mid-cap deals in an area of coverage
  • Develop and maintain rapport with key industry sources across private equity, private credit, LevFin and advisory community
  • Lead as well as support team members on deal coverage
  • Identify trends in direct lending and leveraged finance by staying close to market sources and spotting patterns from covering deals
  • Collaborate with financial and legal analysts, and other reporters across multiple sectors

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in financial journalism with a track record of scoops
  • Passion for breaking news and cultivating relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain market sources among highly sophisticated financiers
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely under deadline pressure
  • An eye for detail and a developed analytical/critical thinking
  • Self motivated with ability to multitask and work in a fast paced newsroom environment
  • Basic understanding of private equity, debt capital markets, specifically private credit, leveraged loans and high yield bonds
  • The candidate must be collaborative and enjoy working in a multicultural team environment
