About the Job: 

Rent the Runway is seeking a Senior Brand Designer who is passionate about the luxury and fashion space to join a fast paced, growing marketing team. You will design creative, compelling and effective visual communications to elevate always on brand storytelling and creative campaigns across owned and paid channels, resulting in a cohesive brand story that builds brand equity. 

A great candidate will champion collaboration and communication and be an advocate for innovative creative execution, strategy, and continuous learning. You will provide creative solutions and subject matter expertise informed by strategic and cultural insights, brand positioning, business goals, and an up to date knowledge of the competitive landscape.  You are comfortable in a fast paced environment, and comfortable with frequent context-switching: going from design concepting to representing the Creative Team in cross-functional meetings. You are an advocate for groundbreaking creative and design.

What You’ll Do:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and cultural moments that fuel creative brand expression
  • Work to concept and execute design solutions that communicate topics strategically, intuitively, and creatively across evergreen Marketing and Campaign initiatives 
  • Work closely with art directors, designers, and copywriters on the delivery of creative guidelines and execution that ensure quality and consistency at scale.
  • See projects through the entire design process; from creative concept to iterations of mockups, visual guideline creation, rounds of production and vendor feedback, finished creative assets and final production files.
  • Works collaboratively with Brand Team members, Creative Operations and Production to ensure proposed creative solutions can be executed within the time and budget 
  • Partner with and present to key stakeholders cross functionally (including Site & App, Paid Social, CRM, PR & Partnerships, Merch/Inventory), as well as within our Creative team to align around creative solutions that consistently innovate, delight customers, and exceed business objectives
  • Contribute to the evolution of our brand by exploring unique ideas, production processes, approaches, methods, and solutions
  • Ensure thoughtful visual consistency and quality across multiple areas of work by sharing progress, providing thoughtful critique, and working collaboratively with Brand designers, copywriters, partners and leadership
  • Resolve ambiguity to execute high-quality creative work in a fast-paced environment

About You:

  • 6+ years of experience in related art direction/design roles at agencies, studios or in-house.
  • A portfolio that shows strong conceptual and technical design skills applied across a range of deliverables, including technical 2D animation expertise.
  • Fluent with the Adobe Creative Suite & Figma
  • Fluent in After Effects and other applicable motion software.
  • Experienced in creating compelling visuals across various brand touchpoints including digital experiences, performance marketing channels, social media content, OOH and more that elevate and evolves brand aesthetics
  • Experienced in core design fundamentals including typography, composition, color theory, and brand guidelines with great attention to detail and consistency 
  • Experienced providing creative partnership to illustration and motion graphics production vendors pre-post production
  • Proactivity, clear communicator and problem solver that can anticipate questions, independently assess solutions, and think critically and creatively.
  • Are supremely organized and exercise stellar time-management skills.
  • Confident and collaborative creator that inspires others to come together on a common goal.
  • Demonstrates exceptional initiative, attention to detail, and follow-through executed at a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Ability to thrive in a multifaceted, feedback-forward creative environment where tasks, priorities, and projects change rapidly.
  • Keeps up to date with popular culture and trends, as well as creative work produced within the fashion advertising space

The anticipated base salary for this position is $115,000 to $135,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. This position is also eligible for equity compensation.
