The position

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Manager, Onboarding Operations APAC, joining our Onboarding team.

This role is managing a high volume regional operations team, that is both customer and employee facing and directly impacting the way our customers employees are being onboarded.

It is ideal for someone with extensive experience in high volume operational work, that loves solving problems and finding scalable solutions to support their team.

To be successful in this role you must be a driven people-leader and have extensive experience in scaling operations while achieving high quality.

You will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Onboarding Operations

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of People Management experience in a high-volume operational team, in the APAC region and developing operational employment processes in conjunction with team.
  • Deep understanding of APAC country employment and/or labour laws, benefits/payroll processes, and employment contracts.
  • Understanding Employment Agreements in multiple countries/jurisdictions will most certainly be an added advantage in this role.
  • A people-first leader that can operate entirely independently and take responsibility for the results of the team.
  • Strong sense of ownership. Accountable for the performance of your team, and to drive improvement while living Remote’s values.
  • Calm under pressure and able to hold difficult conversations.
  • Decision maker. Uses data to drive decision making and escalates where appropriate.
  • Team orientated, builds trust with direct reports and empowers them to do their best work.
  • Pragmatic and flexible approach to challenges, able to iterate and think strategically.
  • Previous start-up experience or hyper-growth experience would be most ideal for this position.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact. This is not a corporate environment, this is a modern tech company.
  • Excited by the constant change and growth working in a startup company brings.
  • Writes and speaks fluent English
  • It's not required to have experience working remotely, but is considered a plus
  • International people operations experience and an HR Generalist background well regarded

Nice to have:

  • Fluent in multiple languages.

Key responsibilities

  • The APAC Onboarding Operations team will report to you and you will provide them with guidance and mentorship.
  • Responsible and accountable for the performance of the APAC Onboarding Operations Specialists and support team reporting into you, ensuring the highest quality standards, and that targets are met.
  • People management: Motivate your team, hold difficult conversations, resolve conflicts, conduct performance reviews, provide input into discussions around individual performance.
  • Act as escalation point for Onboarding challenges arising within APAC working cross functionally to ensure solutions are found and improvements implemented. Escalate to leadership where required.
  • Work collaboratively with Managers within your region, and across others, to instigate and push forward operational change projects.
  • Utilise data to drive decision making and to track your team’s performance. Produce regular reports for Onboarding Operations leadership, along with recommendations for alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to our processes, and the customer experience, working collaboratively across teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Customer's employee onboarding and escalations, ensuring employee information is current, kept safe, and confidential.
  • Support reporting, audit, compliance, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Identify and roll out automation opportunities in existing workflows.
  • Be able to go from “scout to scale” and actually start things up

Remote’s Total Rewards philosophy is to ensure fair unbiased compensation and fair pay along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate. We do not agree to or encourage cheap-labour practices and therefore pay a minimum annual salary of $83,200 USD - $93,600 USD, in all locations throughout the world. Actual compensation may vary based upon geographical location, experience, and/or skill level. However, it will never be below our minimum global compensation mentioned.
