Remix launched with a vision to transform patient’s lives through modulation of RNA processing. Our breakthrough science provides a path to identify small molecules that impact the expression of disease driving mRNAs and proteins. We take on the challenge of addressing drug targets in diseases of high unmet medical need to bring new therapeutic options to patients. Remix has a commitment to demonstrate the highest levels of scientific integrity with urgency because those patients are counting on us to deliver. With an in-house technology platform built from scratch, we have rapidly generated multiple drug discovery programs that are advancing towards the clinic.

Position Summary:

We seek a highly motivated molecular/cellular biologist contractor position to join our team located in Watertown, MA for 12 months. The successful candidate will be an instrumental contributor within the Biology Department, helping to conduct a combination of routine assays and mechanistic studies using small molecules and genetic tools in cell-based assays and to help process samples and analyze data from in vivo studies.

The individual will have a strong background in molecular/cellular biology or another applicable field and will execute in-cell experiments across multiple stages of drug development (e.g., early stage target validation through to lead optimization). They will have a track-record of success within a hypothesis-driven, team-oriented, and interdisciplinary laboratory setting. They will be expected to contribute to data generation, analysis, and visualization, as well as communicating with a cross-functional team of scientists in a thriving biotech environment.

  • Execute assessments of RNA and protein modulation including qRT-PCR, immunoblots, plate-based assays, and preparing samples for RNAseq
  • Process samples and help analyze data from in vivo studies
  • Document, interpret, and regularly report research findings in an open and timely manner in small group and company-wide meetings
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues across all disciplines, including those in biology, pharmacology, biomolecular sciences, bioinformatics, and chemistry

Qualifications:

  • BS, M.Sc. or equivalent in cellular biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline with 2-3+ years of experience working in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology laboratory setting
  • Proficiency in culturing cells and performing various in-cell assays and manipulations including qPCR, immunoblots, ELISA/HTRF, viability, transfections, compound treatments
  • Experienced in independently running routine assays and conducting thorough data analysis. Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills are a must
