Job Summary:

Work at a dynamic pace with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes (K8S), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tools in AWS, GCP, and Azure. Play a crucial role in implementing tools and strategies to enhance Reltio’s internal infrastructure platform. Address challenging problems by combining MDM and Big Data with an emphasis on cost efficiency, reliability, and availability. Innovate with automated approaches to scalability, capacity management, cost optimization, and elasticity.

The Manager of DevOps Engineering is a hands-on people management role. You will be responsible for guiding and coordinating a team of cloud infrastructure experts to meet Reltio’s commitment to service reliability, security, cost efficiency, and platform performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills to mentor and support the team along with in-depth knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud platform technologies, and infrastructure as code.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative culture and encouraging continuous learning and professional development. Focus on people management to support individual growth and team dynamics.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, InfoSec, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of platform requirements, security, and operational priorities.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and maintain complex, multi-region, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud architectures across platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, leveraging services like Kubernetes (GKE/EKS/AKS), Serverless, and Cloud Functions.
  • Deliver on vulnerability management targets that drive cross team coordination of software version upgrades.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, Crossplane, and Helm Charts, automating the provisioning of cloud resources and managing the infrastructure lifecycle through ArgoCD with GitOps principles.
  • Leverage IaC to create self-healing and auto-scaling systems, optimizing infrastructure utilization and resilience.

Cost Efficiency and Optimization:

  • Analyze cloud resource utilization and implement strategies for cost-saving measures to optimize spending across cloud environments.

Additional Responsibilities:

Advanced Monitoring & Observability:

    • Build an observability framework for visibility into infrastructure performance using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Incident Management:

    • Design and manage incident response processes, ensuring prompt detection and resolution of production issues.

Innovation and Tools Enhancement:

    • Stay updated on industry trends and evaluate new tools to enhance DevOps processes.

Security and Compliance:

    • Collaborate with security teams to integrate security controls into DevOps practices.

Skills You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in DevOps Engineering or a similar role with a solid background in software development and infrastructure operations.
  • 3-5 years of experience in leading teams in a DevOps or related technical environment.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with microservices architectures and managing service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Crossplane or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD) and practices.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and high availability architectures.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement DevOps best practices.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.

Skills That Are Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Manage API gateways using Kong to handle traffic routing, security, and monitoring for microservices-based architectures.
