Summary:

With minimal supervision, the Supervisor manages a crew of warehouse personnel, manages customer relations, and is responsible for all aspects of operations of the warehouse location, including production, efficiencies, and employee development.  This position fulfils the role of the On-Site Manager in the manager’s absence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate expectations and goals daily, weekly and monthly to the employees on their shift in order for the site to meet Relogistics performance standards
  • Under the direction of the On-Site Manager, promotes a Safe Working environment and helps ensure Safety Standards are met
  • Ability to communicate to customer any needs or concerns
  • Must be able to recruit, coach, train and provide feedback to the On-Site Manager
  • Must be accountable for achieving Relogistics results while maintaining Relogistics Core Values and Safety Standards
  • Conduct Safety and shift start-up meetings with the employees and establish expectations for them
  • Ability to complete all production paperwork with accuracy
  • Communicates directly with On Site Manager with any employee issues
  • Loading and unloading materials from trailers
  • Moving pallets or materials on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
  • Stacking pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
  • Checking to make sure loads are secure
  • Ensuring that all employees are working safe and abide by all safety policies
  • Ensuring that all daily equipment checks on all Industrial power equipment are being performed
  • Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets Relogistics standards.
  • Learns to perform basic financial data entry and coach employees to achieve site goals
  • Will be required to assist with forklift driver duties, as needed. This would include operating a forklift for supplying and retrieving pallets or materials to/from different areas within the warehouse, making accurate decisions regarding the movement of pallets or materials to maximize the efficiency of the location, as well as tracking these movements in a timely/legible manner on proper Relogistics forms
  • Must work shifts not assigned to the On-Site Manager
  • Fulfil the main back up position to the On-Site Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                 

This position will fully supervise a crew of warehouse personnel, including general laborers and forklift drivers.  Crews may work multiple shifts, and can range in size from three to twenty-five employees. 

Education and/or Experience:                                                

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years applicable experience, preferably in manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, or distribution environments
  • 1+ years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in small, start-up organizations helpful

Other Skills and Abilities:                                            

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently. Spanish fluency is a plus in many locations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural instruction manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Willingness to work through employee relations issues.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) preferred. Expected to be comfortable with technology, generally.
  • Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service to all levels of the organization as well as to visitors and customers

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Forklift, yard truck and sort machine certification may be required.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
