The Role:

You will support a variety of design initiatives from visual design to design strategy projects. Your work will directly influence our marketing, brand, product strategy and product development. We will look to you to be a thought partner and executor. We are looking for someone with strong problem solving skills, curiosity, and flexibility. Though you will work as part of the design team, you will also collaborate across various Back of House teams as an advocate for our target users and design best practices. 

 

Please note this is a contract position with the possibility of becoming a full-time role in the future. The contract may last 6-12 months.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create ads for digital platforms to promote Back of House and our products (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Reddit, etc.)
  • Create email designs (newsletters, product communications)
  • Work with the editorial team to create means for visual storytelling and communication (digital zines, infographics, etc)
  • Understand and be an advocate for our target audience
  • Create assets to inform and to evolve the brand
  • Support design strategy and design research efforts
  • Synthesize and communicate research findings
  • Think critically about our holistic user experience
  • Brainstorm concepts to inform our product roadmap
  • Work cross functionally to understand business metrics and to translate business goals and objectives into design strategy
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Collaborate with other designers
  • Organize, contribute to, and attend skillshare meetings
  • Question and help shape our processes

 

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in design-related field
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills (written, verbal)
  • Experience with design strategy
  • Passion for the restaurant industry
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and self-directed environment
  • Openness to learn from diverse perspectives and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs + Drive
