Business Development Representative, Strategic Accounts

Relay Payments is seeking an ambitious, solution-driven Business Development Representative to join as a founding member of our growing Strategic Accounts team. The role will be responsible for expanding Relay’s enterprise partner base through proven prospecting strategies and initiating the first outreach with potential enterprise accounts. The goal of this role is to help achieve a robust pipeline for strategic accounts. This position will be a great fit for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with multiple projects at once, surrounded by a hard-working team.

Relay Payments is a venture-backed startup, building a contactless payment network in the transportation and logistics industry. We’re working hard to ensure America continues running during COVID-19, and well beyond. Our mission drives everything we do! The transportation and logistics industry has continued to run on cash and industry-specific checks (similar to cashiers checks) since the 1970s. Relay Payments is spearheading the modernization of payments, pushing the industry into the 21st century. We work with the largest Carriers, Freight Brokers, and 3PLs in the United States who care about their drivers to ensure that their products get to shelves quickly for consumer consumption.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or relevant field 
  • Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills
  • Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, SaaS sales
  • At least one year of professional experience
  • Experience reaching or exceeding activity goals/quotas
  • Understanding of trucking and logistics industries

  • Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects
  • Identify the needs, challenges, and opportunities of the prospective partner
  • Determine the prospect's interest in Relay
  • Schedule discovery meetings for Director of Business Development
