Job Name: Associate Director, Planning & Materials

Reformation is looking for an Associate Director, Planning & Materials to join the Planning & Allocation team. The Associate Director, Planning & Materials is a critical role on the Operations / Planning & Allocations team. The Planning & Allocations team is responsible for the short and long term planning of finished garments and fabric, aiming to ensure we have the right product in the right place at the right time. This role is a critical element of that workflow, as they are responsible for data management and analysis of raw materials initiatives that support Reformation’s short- and long-term goals. This individual is responsible for the data integrity, reporting and analysis at the Company level as well as providing direct cross-functional leadership and support. This role is responsible for data analysis, support, executive level decision making and ensuring that our teams are on track to deliver on our goals. 

Further, this role will play a critical role in securing the necessary fabric and raw materials for timely production, while also managing and optimizing inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in data analytics, with a keen ability to identify and act upon emerging trends. Moreover, exceptional cross-functional communication and project management skills are essential for effectively leading business partners through the dynamic landscape of the fashion industry.

Adaptability is key in this role, as the candidate must navigate uncertainty and cultivate new relationships and processes to enhance departmental efficiency continually. The day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on business needs, offering a unique opportunity to shape Reformation’s long term sustainability strategy. 

What you’ll do: 

As the Associate Director, Planning & Materials, you will develop relationships with various departments and leaders, key business owners and stakeholders across the organization at all levels, to manage the data and insights. Your analysis will support the programs, projects and operational components that deliver associated benefits and help meet the organization’s strategic objectives.

With this important role comes key accountabilities and responsibilities which include and are not limited to:

  • Provide data analysis, reporting, and visuals to support the VP of Planning & Allocations, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Finance in decision making
  • Provide thought leadership on how to best operationalize and implement operational efficiency
  • Partner with the Reformation team and stakeholders to ensure optimized processes and execution, along with flawless data management
  • Review and analyze risk by reporting on financial and execution metrics including progress and changes to forecast
  • Gather, analyze, and package data to prepare the help and facilitate huddles, workstream meetings, and/or prioritization and sequencing problem-solving sessions
  • Escalate issues, concerns, roadblocks as appropriate
  • Develop the long term materials strategy at Reformation, balancing inventory availability and consumption goals against our sustainability commitments.
  • Build upon our reporting ecosystem to develop KPI dashboards supporting cross functional visibility into short and long term performance
  • Define and maintain the company fabric Open-to-Buy (OTB) budget to forecast fabric consumption, receipts, and inventory levels
  • Plan evergreen and trend fabric orders and manage inventory levels for the numerous different fabrics Reformation uses
  • Work cross-functionally with Merchandising teams to identify key design and fabric trends in the marketplace
  • Build and continually improve the data foundations and reporting for the fabric planning department
  • Provide company wide visibility into aged, current, and incoming fabric inventory

What you’ll need: 

  • 8-10 years of experience in data analytics and/or inventory planning
  • Conduct superior data analysis using Google Sheets, proficiency in SQL and/or Python for more advanced analysis a plus
  • A strong understanding of Open-to-Buy (OTB) methodology and inventory modeling to optimize inventory levels and allocation
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Navigate uncertainty with agility, proactively developing new processes and strategies to mitigate risks and adapt to changing circumstances
