The IT Network Security Engineer should have exceptional technical expertise and customer service skills, take initiative and should be capable of working in a small but growing and fast-paced environment. As a member of our Information Technology team, the IT Network Security Engineer is expected to independently install, deploy and upgrade network equipment and computer systems; assist with design and implementation of network and system optimization upgrades. The IT Network Security Engineer will also be expected to participate in Infrastructure and Security planning, implementation and support. The Network Security Engineer will actively assist in end-user Helpdesk support activities and share 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
Support the design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of all Cloud and locally based systems, including networks, servers, active directory, and other related IT management systems.
Responsible for expert-level troubleshooting of any problems relating to networks, systems, virtualization, or application issues.
Assist with all aspects of the help desk, including end-user support, ticket handling and provisioning of equipment.
Contribute to IT policies and process development using industry best practices
Provides on-call support for networks, systems, and application related outages
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
5+ years IT experience with on-going skills development
Excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues under pressure.
Self-motivated, results-driven, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks with clear sense of ownership and priority
Strong knowledge of common IT infrastructure, such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Azure AD, network equipment, firewalls, and server hardware platforms
Microsoft/Cisco certifications preferred
Ubuntu and Mac knowledge a plus
Strong experience with Internet services and general network troubleshooting (PING, DNS, etc.)
