The Facilities Manager will oversee building operations and facility maintenance for a rapidly growing startup company that is manufacturing large and complex medical equipment requiring extensive facilities support. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities and coordinating work through maintenance technicians and trade contractors in support of a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Ensure day-to-day operations of manufacturing and research facilities.
Recruit, hire and manage a team of Maintenance Technicians as necessary.
Ensure that all facilities equipment is working properly and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to maximize facilities reliability.
Coordination of all facilities-related contractors and trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
Management of construction activities as needed.
Ensure the safe, secure, clean and environmentally compliant operation and maintenance of all facilities.
Management of office facilities vendors such as cleaning service, waste removal, pest control, etc.
Support facilities-related administrative activities such as office moves, furniture procurement, etc.
Manage priorities and ensure tasks are completed utilizing a cloud-based service ticketing system.
Ensure all facilities-related expenses are within budget.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years increasingly responsible facilities experience, with at least two years in facilities management capacity.
Facilities experience supporting the manufacturing of medical, semiconductor or other similar complex capital equipment.
Experience in a compliance-oriented and highly regulated environment; FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR) preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC system and applications.
Familiar with all hand, machine and power tool usage.
Ability to interpret building drawings and equipment schematics.
Working knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
Project management experience.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated and proactive problem solver.
Manufacturing is a 24/7 operation; must be on call during operating hours to lead and/or delegate emergency response as needed.
Must be based locally in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Must be able to climb ladders and periodically lift up to 40 pounds.
