The algorithm software intern will be part of a talented algorithm software development team in radiotherapy treatment delivery, planning and medical imaging. RefleXion utilizes a multi-modality PET and CT system for biology-guided radiotherapy. RefleXion's patented biological guidance represents a revolution in radiation delivery that enables the underlying cancer biology to control and shape the therapeutic tumor dose. The algorithms software intern will be helping on system analysis and image processing with the guidance from senior engineers who are working on challenging planning optimization, image processing, image registration, and image segmentation problems. The successful candidate will have a good background in advanced image processing, mathematics, linear algebra, statistics, and geometry. The position requires experience using C++, MATLAB and Python for prototyping.
Understand the Reflexion system planning and treatment delivery performance requirements and analyze the system performance in different scenarios by using the simulated data, phantom data or clinical PET/CT images
Develop the software tool as needed for the system analysis using C++ code, MATLAB or Python
Conduct performance analysis and software testing, including system simulation and data, image and system analysis
Organize the results in scientific methodology and write technical report including excel graphics and PowerPoint presentations
The internship lasts 4 months
MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, or closely-related field
Strong background in advanced image processing, mathematics, linear algebra and statistics
2+ years of experience developing algorithms for image processing problems such as image denoising and image filtering
Experience on image/signal processing is strongly required.
Experience on systematic analysis on system performance
Strong software programing skill using MATLAB, Python, and C/C++
Analytic and attention to details
