Reporting directly to our CFO, (who has a broad span of responsibility across Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, IT, HR and Finance & Accounting), this individual will oversee the Finance and Accounting functions (“the team”) on a day-to-day basis. The Senior Director/VP of Finance & Accounting will provide the vision to grow and guide the team as it develops in anticipation of the changing complexities of the business.
RefleXion is a transformational Company and the Senior Director/VP of Finance & Accounting will be similarly transformational, hiring and mentoring a team that can deploy to meet the growth-related challenges that RefleXion will increasingly face. The Senior Director/VP of Finance & Accounting will partner with all aspects of the business to build and improve business and accounting processes, systems and controls while ensuring that core accounting functions such as close, procurement and payment, commercial finance, quarterly external reporting and SOX compliance etc are all operating at a level appropriate for the stage of development of the Company.
The Senior Director/VP of Finance & Accounting will enjoy significant autonomy to manage the team on a daily basis but will also work closely with the CFO (who has previously operated in this lead role at 3 public companies) as they jointly guide the team through commercialization, international expansion and an IPO.
The Senior Director/VP of Finance & Accounting will have the following characteristics, all of which are required in the successful candidate:
At least 15 years of progressive career experience building to at least the Director level
Has a passion for, and a proven track-record of, building, mentoring and leading successful teams
Is an active CPA, likely ex-Big 4, with a deep accounting technical skillset; knowledgeable in all of the typical accounting issues faced by a commercial growth-stage life sciences company
Has worked in senior financial or accounting roles at public-companies
Has a genuine senior-level presence being comfortable working closely with senior executives and presenting alongside the CFO at Board meetings
Has a high degree of self-confidence and independence being comfortable making meaningful and complex decisions
