We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Application Experience - QA team. This team builds and maintains the test frameworks and test infrastructure to cover Kibana and Machine Learning features. You will help implement and drive adoption of testing at scale. This includes contributions to the test frameworks as well as introducing specific test flows, assertions and reporting.
What you will be doing:
- Think automation first and work on our growing test coverage and on maturing our test systems
- Contribute to test frameworks to build and maintain test capabilities with a focus on testing at scale
- Collaborate with other engineering teams within Elastic that are using the test frameworks
- Actively help maintain and improve our test infrastructure
- Promote knowledge share and collaboration in a distributed and diverse team
What you will bring:
- 2+ years experience in a Software Engineering or QA role
- Proficient in TypeScript
- Experience with Git/GitHub
- Good attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to be part of a distributed team; self motivated, can work independently, with strong collaboration and communication skills
- Passion for high software quality
- Enthusiasm to learn beyond your role and contribute in other areas of our team
- Your heart in the right place, a good sense of humor and a genuine interest in the people you work with
Bonus skills, useful to have, but not mandatory:
- Experience working on test engineering and QA methodology
- Experience with performance and scale testing
- Experience with the Elastic Stack
- Experience with CI/CD using Buildkite
- Experience in Python
