Senior Facilities Manager
About Redwood Materials
Redwood Materials is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to support our rapid physical expansion. This person will lead the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the Facilities department. In addition, they will manage the day-to-day operations for building/facility maintenance, as well as equipment, and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, grounds keeping, and overall facility appearance. This individual must be able to work across a wide range of teams and disciplines in a dynamic and scrappy start-up environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage equipment, building, and related services, and forecast any possible problems or defects that may occur (to the most minute detail)
- Directly manage staff, assign work, monitor activities, evaluate performance, and manage escalated/critical issues.
- Builds, mentors, develops and coaches a team of Facility Technicians
- Continuously update and improve efficiency and response time to minimize downtime.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment
- Perform Project Management oversight; directly manage contractors and consultants, develop and track budget, and oversee quality assurance
- Manage projects (capital and expense), facility requests, and special events.
- Develop/manage department key performance indicators (KPIs)
Desired Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering or similar engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5+ years managing facilities within complex manufacturing, maintenance or production environments
- High level of experience in a regulatory environment, including permitting, workplace safety, and environmental regulations to comply with local, state, and federal standards.
- Experience defining and implementing building management and automation systems.
- Experience and/or expertise in several of the following areas: Plant Operations Engineering, clean room, and large-scale manufacturing.
- Experience with managing new construction projects, (i.e. tenant improvements, tool installation, facilities equipment installation.)
- Demonstrated work experience leading building facility teams from the ground up and managing multi-site teams.
- Experience managing relationships with contractors and service providers (janitorial, HVAC, landscaping, mechanical and electrical trades)
- Excellent computer and systems knowledge; Strong literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs. .
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs carrying weight.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors and inclement weather conditions.
- Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, or extreme heat/cold.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
