Security Manager

The Impact You’ll Make

• Responsible for the conduct and performance of the security team
• Acts as a point of communication between Recursion and the third-party security staff
• Responsible for ensuring that the security team is trained and licensed to the onsite third-party security and Recursion standards
• Onboarding of new guards
• Ensure the team’s training is continually updated and documented
• Oversight of post orders and procedures to ensure that all laws, rules, Recursion expectations, and 3rd party security team standards are followed
• Maintain a working knowledge of the procedures followed by the security team in the course of their duties
• Work with the third-party site lead to update, edit, and rewrite post orders according to the prevailing demands and conditions of the post
• Supervise, counsel, advise, and discipline the security team according to the laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and standards that govern the post
• Establish and maintain a working relationship with the Gateway Mall Security Supervisor and continually foster good relations with that team
• Foster good relations between the security team and first responders (police, fire, medical)
• Establish a partnership between Recursion employees/vendors and the security team
• Establish deep knowledge of all technology systems used by Recursion and the third-party security team as required by this post
• Work with Recursion Site Services team to establish knowledge of facilities, lab systems, and emergency protocols to protect the site including, but not limited to: Fire Alarm Systems, Gas Monitoring Systems, Equipment Monitoring and reading Gauges, Emergency Utility shut-offs, & Emergency Event Coordination.
• Receive First Aid/CPR/AED training and be prepared to respond to onsite emergencies
• Manage Guest check-in systems for visitors
• Manage badge access for employees and visitors
• Research, author, and present new security platforms or programs as needed
• Communicate at all levels company-wide about security programs or concerns (verbally and in writing)

The Team You’ll Join 

You will be joining the Site Services team at Recursion, which works to support lab and site operations, facilities management, EH&S, expansion facilities, and other necessary areas across all Recursion sites. You’ll collaborate with your teammates and across departments to expand and enable Recursion to continue to grow and succeed in our mission to decode biology.

The Experience You’ll Need

• 5+ years of experience in people and/or vendor management
• BS in a relevant discipline
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Independent and self-motivated 
• Effective multitasking, recording, and information management skills
• Project development and coordination skills for a variety of different project areas 
• Ability to work with teams at various management levels
• Capable of initiating, developing and implementing programs/processes

• Frequent team meetings to discuss relevant changes and coordinate work.
• You will have strong support and regular feedback from your manager and director. 
• Training on Recursion’s culture, values, and drug discovery and development process to provide insight into our unique approach and strategy for success.

At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is:

• Developing: $120,000
• Skilled: $132,000
• Expert: $146,000
