The Impact You’ll Make

Recursion is a leading TechBio company decoding biology to industrialize drug discovery. Reporting to the Chief Comms Officer, the Manager of Communications will be a strong storyteller and tactical teammate who drives and executes initiatives across external communications, including writing press releases, executing on press, disclosure, and social media campaigns, and supporting web content to effectively communicate our company’s mission, milestones, and initiatives to various stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of the Corporate Communications team to understand highly complex scientific and technical information and craft it into compelling narratives that illustrate Recursion’s leadership in TechBio for a multitude of audiences.  

Specifically, you will:

  • Partner with communications team members and our creative agency to drive the development and execution of owned content in support of our overarching strategy and campaigns, including videos, written materials, and other creative assets
  • Develop materials for and coordinate external announcements and quarterly earnings, including press release upload & distribution, website updates, and other supporting materials
  • Manage and grow Recursion’s social media channels, including drafting copy, supporting creative asset development, posting, community management, reporting, with strategic direction from Comms Leadership Team 
  • Manage Recursion’s Communications Playbook, ensuring the latest messaging, stats, company materials and guidance are provided to employees
  • Manage Recursion’s tracker of events - both internal and external.

Join us at our HQ located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Relocation is available for candidates not local to the area. 

The Team You’ll Join 

You will be part of Recursion’s dynamic and fast-paced communications team that collectively oversees internal and external communications, media relations, content creation, events, awards, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, or a related discipline with  at least 4+ years of experience in a public relations agency or corporate communications/marketing environment. 
    • Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry preferred but not required 
  • Demonstrated experience in driving strategic communication programs, providing valuable and results-oriented counsel to internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal, graphical, written, with a keen sense of how to connect with people and build trust.
  • Passion for the company mission and vision of using technology to industrialize drug discovery
  • Knowledge of biology/life sciences and/or artificial intelligence/machine learning is a plus
  • Strongly encouraged: knowledge of the social media landscape and strategies to attract new followers and keep them engaged with strong content

At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is:

  • Developing: $117,000
  • Skilled: $130,000
  • Expert: $143,000

You will also be eligible for bonuses and equity compensation + our comprehensive benefits package for United States based candidates. The range displayed on each job posting reflects target ranges for US new hire salaries and is determined by job, level, and market factors.
