Job Overview:

Recorded Future is looking to recruit a Global Payroll Director in developing strategy, tactical execution and consistency in driving and managing the global payroll function as well as  implement best-in-class procedure and drive process improvements and transformation to scale to to meet the fast-paced growth of the organization. 

The Global Payroll Director will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, including production and timely delivery of global payroll including bi-weekly or monthly payrolls, taxes, garnishments, payroll reporting and compliance related matters. Works closely with the People team and the SVP of People & Talent to resolve challenges, plan enhancements, and oversee related testing in the system. The Senior Corporate Global Payroll Manager uses an understanding of the payroll system to accurately pay employees in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules and regulations and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The Senior Corporate Global Payroll Manage assures proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of withholdings, such as taxes, deductions for benefits, charitable contributions, and retirement contributions, other savings, etc.

In addition to leading the Global payroll team, this leader's focus will be multi-dimensional with delivery of exceptional service experience, regional and local county expertise, high degree of partner engagement, focus on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, operational process excellence, while embodying an innovative spirit in the idea and delivery of future impacting services and solutions.

What you'll do as Global Payroll Director:

  • Responsible for end-to-end payroll processes for employees across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations. In addition to managing and coaching a global team located across various countries.
  • Develops and evaluates measurements and metrics to gauge effectiveness of the processes and systems along with focusing on continuous improvement, simplification, and automation.
  • Ensures proper payment of wages and salaries by managing those responsible for the preparation of bi-weekly, monthly  and off cycle payrolls and partnering with outsourced vendors to ensure that the payroll system is correctly processing earnings and deductions meeting company and local in-country guidelines..
  • Manages oversight of all payroll related tax filings and any related issuance (e.g. quarterly 941’s and annual W-2’s) to ensure these are done timely and accurately, responsible for setting up new accounts with various federal and state agencies as required.Ensure timely responses for all notices received from various regulatory agencies in each country.
  • Acts as a point of contact and source of technical information regarding issues between the Payroll and Workday to resolve problems and/or issues that directly affect payroll output and payroll-related legal and compliance issues.
  • Identifies enhancements to the systems supporting payroll and timekeeping processes while working closely with stakeholders in the People Team, Finance, and Business Operations for functional support.
  • Leads payroll team by providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to create a high performing team atmosphere with a focus on accountability, quality, partnership, customer service delivery and satisfying work experiences.
  • Collect and validate employee data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits information, to ensure accurate payroll calculations. 
  • Review and reconcile payroll data, ensuring all deductions, taxes, and contributions are accurately calculated and processed. 
  • Monitor changes in tax laws, labor regulations, and payroll compliance requirements across various countries, ensuring timely updates to payroll processes. 
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues related to compensation, deductions, and tax withholdings. 
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of payroll system upgrades and enhancements. 
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll records to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors. 
  • Previous experience with Payroll G/L functions and reconciliations to cash payouts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, People Team, and Legal, to ensure alignment and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring as the Global Payroll Director:

  • 5+ years  of senior payroll leadership experience managing payroll for a multi state employer with a minimum of 1,000 employees.
  • Prior experience managing HRMS projects.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, payroll methods, Department of Labor regulations, federal and state tax regulations and international 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Workday, ActivePay application is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Workday, Zendesk, Netsuite, and Floqast is a plus.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Develop strong working relationships throughout the organization at all levels.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of core Payroll business terminology, processes and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
  • Must be able to effectively manage changes and support impacted areas of the business.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if required on urgent requests.
