Our Opportunity:

The Area Franchise Lead manages franchisee relationships for Burger King within the USA. This role particularly supports the New England region within the US Northeast division. They are responsible for the holistic performance of the franchisees and restaurants within their territory, including:  leading restaurant development and remodeling, improving restaurant operations and the guest experience,   and supporting local marketing. The AFL manages their direct report, and Area Operations Manager, and in turn reports directly to the General Manager, BK, US Midwest.  Being cross-functional in nature, the AFL works closely with other functions within the organization including: Development, Operations, Franchising, Finance, Marketing, Profitability, and Global Business Services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Manages Franchisee Relationships

  • Liaise between corporate and franchisees
  • Serves as the first point of contact for brand initiatives that affect franchisees and restaurants, and for franchisee needs across multiple functions (development, operations, marketing, franchising, and more)

Leads Restaurant Development

  • Negotiates restaurant development agreements at local level and helps franchisees execute development commitments
  • Negotiates local remodel commitments and oversees franchisees’ execution of commitments
  • Manages and negotiates restaurant closures
  • Manages pipeline of openings, closures, and remodels and helps incentivize, problem solve, and trouble shoot projects to deliver Net Restaurant Growth and Image

Improves Restaurant Operations

  • Supports and coaches franchisees to improve operations metrics as they relate to overall guest satisfaction and speed of service
  • Problem-solves root causes of operational opportunities across franchise organizations and implements change via business reviews, action plans, call cadences, and other tactics

Supports Local Marketing Initiatives

  • Understands marketing calendar and initiatives in order to represent the brand and endorse the marketing to franchisees

Manages People

  • Motivates and ensures team is delivering operations mission and targets

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • MBA
  • Experience in franchise operations
  • Knowledge of development, operations, and marketing
  • Great organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Experience in client facing / relationship building roles
