Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of the Legal Centre of Excellence, this position will manage onboarding of suppliers and vendors, and review and negotiate contracts, in support of RBI and its affiliates’ brands globally, including BURGER KING®, TIM HORTONS® and POPEYES®. It will support specific business units including Supply Chain, Distribution, and Information Technology. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Restaurant Brands International Legal Centre of Excellence, and will work under the guidance and direction of the company’s lawyers in the US. This position requires providing support to the legal and business teams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism. 

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·       Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related field

·       In-depth experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating & enforcing a high volume of agreements

·       Three years or more of contract management experience, and it would be an asset to have experience in reviewing confidentiality agreements, purchase or supply agreements or other services contracts

·       Knowledgeable of general commercial terms when negotiating contracts in order to mitigate risk factors

·       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and expectations while meeting set deadlines

·       Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and relationship building skills at all levels

·       Well-developed problem solving skills, able to provide innovative client focused solutions

·       Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·       Highly motivated and capable of bringing innovation, efficiency and excellence to work every day

·       Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and projects and to meet deadlines

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a results-oriented team in a fast-paced, open concept environment

Essential Responsibilities

·       Draft initial versions of supply chain agreements based upon approved forms for suppliers and vendors globally

·       Review initial comments, negotiate and draft contractual documents

·       Monitor contract status to ensure accuracy, progress and completeness

·       Act as a valued business partner, advising and adding value to complex legal matters for various business units and general corporate matters

·       Think critically and proactively about business needs and risks, and tailor contracts accordingly, prepare quality recommendations to meet the needs of the business

·       Draft, review and negotiate a high volume of complex, commercial contracts while managing risk and maximizing the benefit to the business, while paying strong attention to detail

·       Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and as needed

·       Liaise with lawyers, outside counsel, and senior management to ensure communication and resolution of issues
