Raye IT is looking for an innovative system engineer to support a federal client within the Washington, D.C. area.
Responsibilities
- Provide system engineering support, operations, maintenance, and research and development for customer operating systems (OS), Windows, and application systems that support fleet infrastructure.
- Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and procedures adhere to
federal and customer requirements and guidelines. - Support design reviews for existing and new facilities, platforms, owned or operated by the customer and business information management systems hardware and software.
- Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications per project or operational needs.
- Provide virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, Amazon, other cloud based virtual products) design, engineering, maintenance, and support.
- Monitor the IT infrastructure using enterprise toolsets for all customer facilities, ships, unmanned vehicles, and cloud environment(s).
- Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Configure central processing unit (CPU), memory, and disk partitions as required.
- Provide Tier I & 2/other support and investigate and troubleshoot issues.
- Develop systems engineering planning documents. Perform system engineering and integration (SE&I) for OMAO information management systems and processes.
- Develop, manage, and/or adhere to systems engineering and software development processes to ensure end-to-end integration and improve service delivery.
- Identify and with government approval, implement opportunities to streamline and enhance software administration, site development processes and procedures, and improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 5+ years of system engineering experience
Preferred: Azure administration Certification.
Security Clearance Requirement: Public Trust.
