The Director, Data Strategy will lead a team of advanced and audience analytics professionals within one of our largest clients. We are seeking a highly qualified analytics professional with professional experience optimizing traditional CRM mail and email channels. The Director will proactively identify opportunities and strategies, rooted in data that will propel client's business forward with timely delivery of data, analytics and strategic support. The Director must be comfortable developing and guiding the vision to lead projects and analysts to greatness. This position leverages knowledge of statistical modeling techniques to provide suggestions or guidance to teams under their oversight. The position will collaborate closely with account leadership while building strong client relationships. The person in this role will drive innovation within optimization efforts across algorithms and reporting/insights as well as nurturing a strong team of analysts. The Director will translate the in-market results back to the client with insights, recommendations and next-step roadmap planning as the client’s trusted advisor. Additionally, the Director is tasked with identifying and providing recommendations to continuously refine current business practices and tools to create exceptional operations.

Deep experience in advanced analytics, audience data, CRM, and measurement is required.

What You'll Do:

  • Consult on client business problems, drive analytic objectives, create practical analytic roadmaps, develop concrete analytic framework, identify data needs and formulate data solutions, manage analysis projects, package and present insights to stake holders at all levels, and finally, implement recommended solutions with a goal to achieve clients’ business objectives
  • Deliver practical and actionable recommendations based upon marketing intelligence generated through primary research, journey analytics, consumer modeling, and competitive analysis
  • Ability to consolidate and package up insights, analytic outputs, and action items into a well-organized, consumable package with actionable recommendations and strategies for marketers (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.)
  • Oversee the development of various predictive models, becoming hands-on with the team. Must be able to explain the modeling process and results to clients in a non-technical way as well as direct model development with the team
  • Responsible for collaborating with broader team on measurement frameworks, coordinating with the team for the development of effective reporting and dashboards with an objective to evaluate marketing performance and provide recommendations for enhancement
  • Anticipate project risk and constraints and proactively work on solutions to address the risk/constraints while proactively leading large, complex analytical projects end to end
  • Work across client teams to help design cross functional and industry-best-practice marketing solutions
  • Stay informed of advancements in industry trends and developing technology; proactively apply entrepreneurial spirit in identifying opportunities to introduce, enhance and improve analytical tools, data mining techniques and processes, ensuring the team is always at the forefront of the industry
  • Proactively demonstrates thought leadership; develop best practices, case studies, training class materials, and/or present at client meetings and events
  • Manage and mentor managers, contributing to their technical and career development
  • Recruit, hire, develop and retain "A" players
  • Become a go-to-person for the client as a thought leader; develop best practices, case studies, training class materials, and client events and conferences

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent in quantitative field academic/professional experience (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering)
  • You have 8 or more years of experience in quantitative marketing arena, in database and/or direct marketing
  • You have a CRM background and proven experience with CRM Data Analysis (Customer Segmentation, Churn, Lifetime Value, Acquisition, etc.)
  • You have proficiency with multiple analytics tools required; R strongly preferred; Business Objects, SQL
  • You have strong hands-on experience with BI or digital analytics tools such as Tableau, Adobe Audience Manager/ Analytics
  • You have developed custom performance reporting, algorithms, models and analyses across multiple channels/clients
  • You must have experience with statistical concepts and applying statistical techniques such as regression, ANOVA, ARIMA, cluster analysis, factor analysis, time series forecasting, experimental design, etc. to perform incremental lift studies and solve business problems
  • You have an understanding of digital data including the systems and processes used to generate and manipulate it by media type web, ad, email, mobile, etc.
  • You have developed and maintained strategic client partnerships across all digital marketing channels
  • You have directed and developed strategic solutions that drive results on client campaigns & objectives
  • You have the ability to clearly convey strategic vision in a manner that instills confidence in the client while garnering complete support from analysts
  • You have the ability to optimize workflow with a multitude of internal stakeholders to ensure complete satisfaction while ensuring client objectives are met
  • You have directed a team of that spans multiple clients and channels ensuring that objectives are being met
  • You have experience managing cross functional teams with a primary role supporting multiple teams of analysts
  • You have excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • You strong problem solving and consulting skills
  • You have a demonstrated ability to foster strong client relationship
  • You have a demonstrated proficiency in multiple digital marketing channels
  • You have a demonstrated proficiency in customer centric marketing
  • You have a track record of cultivating positive change management
  • You preferably have experience with digital marketing or web analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • You have a demonstrated ability to foster ideas and growth among a team of analysts
