About the role:

Our team is rapidly growing and looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute to development efforts and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. We enjoy the challenges of human-centered design, security, and scale to create better outcomes for our federal agency partners. We are a remote-first company and work completely in open source. 

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years professional backend developer experience
  • Experience in functional programming using Scala is required, including knowledge of Akka toolkit, Reactive programming model, and Actor based concurrency
  • Worked on a CQRS Event Driven Architecture
  • Demonstrated experience developing and optimizing database queries in relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) structures, such as PostgreSQL, and Cassandra / AWS Keyspaces
  • Expertise using Slick or another Object Relational Mapping (ORM) library
  • Built and optimizing APIs with complex JSON payloads
  • Creating unit tests and integration tests that validate end-to-end API responses
  • Developed containerized microservices, with specific skills in developing for Docker containers using Kubernetes orchestration
  • Worked with Github for source code management and planning
  • Degree in Computer Science
  • Obtain Security+ within 90 days of employment with Raft

Highly preferred:

  • Experience in a front-end framework such as VueJS, especially ReactJS
  • Demonstrated experience working on open-source projects with specific experience delivering public facing solutions
  • Experience using asynchronous Python methodologies or similar
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science

Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
