Your Role as Director Revenue Strategy and Operations

 

As the Director of Revenue Strategy and operations you’ll be responsible for all aspects of GTM operations across Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience.  The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, improve operational efficiency, and optimize revenue processes. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a data-driven mindset and a proven track record of building and scaling revenue operations in the SaaS industry to support an enterprise business model.  This role is a player/coach role that will execute on most items and projects individually and through crowdsourcing with the business supplemented by a small outsourced systems team.

 

Responsibilities

 

Revenue Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy that supports the company’s growth and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set annual and quarterly revenue targets, and establish strategies for achieving these goals.
  • Identify new market opportunities and drive initiatives for expanding product offerings and market penetration.
  • Develop key OKR’s for each business area ensure tracking and reporting of each.
  • Develop a regular cadence of executive meetings, content and reporting for the business 
  • Develop a strategy and execute in building the appropriate tooling to support the GTM businesses

Sales and Marketing:

  • Build process to support a shift towards building a culture of performance accountability at the team, rep and source level.
  • Implement an enterprise-focused attribution model that helps leadership understand the full spectrum of influencing behaviors.
  • Serve as an objective single source of truth for the health of business for reporting for the GTM team.
  • Partner with sales and marketing leadership to ensure alignment across lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Optimize the sales funnel and marketing processes to improve lead conversion and increase overall pipeline efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for sales and marketing teams to maximize productivity and performance.

Customer Experience

 

  • Partner with customer success and support teams to enhance the overall customer experience, driving customer retention and reducing churn.
  • Development of a customer delivery methodology, process, tools and templates that helps drive consistent delivery. 
  • Help define organizational structure to align closely to the customer journey and sales to support seamless transition from sales to service.
  • Develop key reporting and metrics that identify and track the key strategies of the team as well as the profitability of the Professional Services delivery.  
  • Develop a strategy around pricing and packaging for professional services
  • Develop key reporting and metrics that show project health and progression and customer health.

 

Revenue Operations Management:

  • Lead and manage the revenue operations team, overseeing functions such as sales operations, marketing operations, and customer success operations.
  • Develop and maintain robust revenue operations processes, systems, and tools (e.g., CRM, marketing automation) to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Analyze and monitor key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven strategies.
  • Develop strategies to upsell and cross-sell products, increasing customer lifetime value and overall revenue.

Forecasting and Financial Analysis:

  • Oversee revenue forecasting and pipeline management, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial planning.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop revenue projections, budgets, and KPIs for performance tracking.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to guide business decisions and support revenue growth initiatives.

Pricing and Revenue Optimization:

  • Evaluate and refine pricing models, discount structures, and promotional strategies to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Lead efforts to implement dynamic pricing, bundled offerings, or other innovative pricing solutions that align with market trends and customer needs.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a data-driven and results-oriented approach across the team, ensuring accountability and excellence in execution.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in revenue operations, sales strategy, or business operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a SaaS or software company.
  • Knowledge of AI Technologies and delivery is ideal
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful revenue strategies that have driven significant growth.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, and other sales/revenue tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Demonstrated ability to align sales, marketing, and customer experience teams to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with a focus on driving data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience managing a team and working cross-functionally with C-level executives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
