We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Field Service Engineer II in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are seeking a talented, highly motivated, self-starter to join our field-based service organization. After the completion of our training program at corporate headquarters and field-based training, you will be joining a determined team of individuals dedicated to providing top tier customer service that is enabling our customers to reach unprecedented levels of proteomic detection with Quanterix Simoa Technology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform onsite installations, IQ/OQ, maintenance, and repairs of complex high sensitivity scientific instrumentation in assigned geographic area, as well as outside territory as needed
  • Independently coordinate and maintain preventative maintenance schedule of assigned assets
  • Independently coordinate with internal support team, management, and colleagues to ensure service repairs, and expedite as needed
  • Independently manage expense account, service tool calibration, and individual trunk stock inventory
  • Proficient on one Quanterix platform with the ability become adept on a second
  • Serve as a field trainer for colleagues, as needed
  • Utilize CRM technology to document, log, and capture clear and concise account of service events
  • Partner with regional sales and field application teams to ensure a high-quality customer experience
  • Train customers on basic system operation and recommended end user maintenance
  • Direct customer inquiries to proper channels to ensure resolution
  • Promote Quanterix technology and products to customers and to the general industry

What We’ll Expect From You:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 2 -5 years Field Service Engineer experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (A.S.) in Electronics 
  • Basic lab experience  
  • Salesforce experience
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Valid passport or eligibility to acquire. International travel may be required 
  • PC proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office and Adobe 
  • Compliance with customer laboratory conduct and safety protocols 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive customer rapport 
  • Travel overnight up to 50% based upon business needs 
  • Prioritize activities to support customer install base 
  • Work collaboratively with others, as well as independently 
  • Compliance with customer laboratory conduct and safety protocols 
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and multitask in fast-paced environments 
  • High mechanical aptitude for problem solving 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Visit corporate headquarters (Boston, MA, USA) twice per year 
  • Flexible schedule 
  • Ability to lift assemblies up to 50lbs 
  • Ability to work in tight constricted areas 
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, and kneel
