About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Email Marketing Manager to join our marketing team at Pushpay. As an Email Marketing Manager, you will own the strategy, planning, writing, setup, reporting, testing and optimization of nurture email programs designed to move our B2B prospects toward sales-readiness. 

The Email Marketing Manager will also work closely with segment marketing managers (enterprise, midmarket, etc.) to plan messaging and content for segment-targeted campaigns. This role will be responsible for writing compelling, audience-tailored email copy according to best practices for delivery and performance, and then continually reporting, testing, evaluating results and optimizing. 

The ideal candidate will be data-driven with a proven track record of creating and managing high-performing, high-value email programs. This role requires excellent email writing abilities, an understanding of email deliverability best practices, knowledge of email design and layout practices (though this is not a design role), and some familiarity with email compliance regulations and legislation (GDPR, ADA, etc.). Marketing automation software experience (preferably Marketo) is required.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing, and works cross-functionally with segment marketing managers, digital marketers, sales enablement staff, and our marketing automation team.

Compensation ranges are determined by role and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the pay range for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What You'll Do

  • Writing effective email copy that drives audience engagement and action while adhering to best practices for email performance, email delivery (PathFactory), etc. 
  • Continually evaluating and optimizing the overall email marketing strategy according to KPIs and goals, with a holistic approach that balances audience experience and business goals. 
  • Leveraging email reporting through Marketo marketing automation software and working within Marketo to set up email campaign content (text, images, etc.).
  • Responsible for email performance optimizations, including but not limited to: email layout evaluation, email deliverability assessment, and optimization of offers and CTAs.
  • Works closely with the marketing automation team to create custom campaign experiences by flexing within our created email and landing page templates and making recommendations for new email templates and template changes. 
  • Analyzes email campaign results and develops reporting across all email programs to help answer KPI, pipeline and revenue questions. Educate others on email performance stats, recommendations and lessons learned. 
  • Works closely with sales enablement staff to ensure alignment and work collaboratively to ensure consistent email messaging across Marketing and Sales. 
  • Serve as our resident email marketing expert, lending recommendations throughout the team and writing email-optimized content for various programs. 
  • Develops an analytically-rigorous approach to identify, communicate and implement strategic recommendations for improving/optimizing campaigns in collaboration with other members of the marketing team.
  • Works closely with web marketing staff to leverage website analytics to evaluate web audience behavior and engagement related to the email channel.
  • Owns, manages and maintains an Email Marketing Confluence page for consistent visibility into email program plan and performance insights. 
  • Evaluates and identifies opportunities using competitor email analysis.
  • Stays atop of changes, especially as related to compliance, in email marketing best practices as well as industry and competitive trends.

What You'll Bring

Skills 

  • Highly skilled in the art and science of B2B email copywriting, balancing consistent application of brand voice with writing for performance, deliverability and compliance best practices.
  • Proven track record of creating and managing high-performing, high-value email programs.
  • Understanding of email deliverability best practices, knowledge of email design and layout practices (though this is not a design role), and some familiarity with email compliance regulations and legislation (GDPR, ADA, etc.).
  • Marketing automation software experience (preferably Marketo) is required.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to analyze email performance and communicate insights and recommendations to various stakeholders.
  • Detailed-oriented, and proactively raises issues and recommends solutions to improve performance and operational efficiency.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing and prioritizing multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of professionalism as well as effective written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
  • Strong drive toward listening, understanding and empathy.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of marketing experience (including 3+ years managing and writing copy for email marketing programs)
  • Experience creating A/B and multivariate email testing
  • Familiarity with landing page conversion optimization 
  • Experience with build, management and optimization of email performance reporting (processes, KPIs, down funnel metrics, insights readout, etc.)
  • Proficiency with marketing automation software (Marketo preferred)
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics preferred
  • Tableau reporting experience strongly preferred
