We’re looking for a Director of Mobile Engineering to lead several teams of engineers across our Apps platform through our next phase of growth. You will be expected to bring your depth of experience and accomplished leadership skills to bear on this role.
The Director of Mobile Engineering is concerned with ensuring a smooth execution of complex deliverables that generate sustained value to the business and our customers. You should be adept at hiring, mentoring, and coaching of individual contributors and managers while cultivating a collaborative team environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
You will not be expected to write code on a day-to-day basis, but should have a strong technical background with experience in researching new technologies and staying abreast of the trends of the industry, you need to be able to dive deep and will be expected to understand the systems and services you oversee from a business, technical and operational perspective.
You will be working to connect your teams of engineers to the "Why" behind what they are doing, and will be working in close collaboration with other Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to set product and technical strategy for your teams. This role is based in New Zealand, but you will be coordinating work across engineering teams in New Zealand and the United States.

Experience with one or more of Amazon Web Services (AWS), NodeJS, or Mobile Application Development desirable.
