Pure Storage is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Hyperscale Operations team. In this role, you will lead critical technical and operational projects, working closely with hardware design teams, manufacturing partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive the qualification and production ramp of hyperscale products. This position offers the unique opportunity to onboard new server and flash drive JDM/CM partners, streamline processes, and ensure seamless execution in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
You will manage hardware projects and schedules at new and existing contract manufacturers, proactively identifying and mitigating risks in collaboration with internal and external teams. With your expertise, you will provide actionable recommendations, make independent decisions, and contribute to innovative product ideas that address challenges in massive-scale storage environments. This dynamic role is ideal for a highly motivated individual who thrives in small-team settings and seeks diverse responsibilities within the hyperscale line of business.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…
- Manage technical and operations-focused programs, developing and maintaining milestones, schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with hardware design teams and manufacturing partners to ensure timely qualification and ramp production of hyperscale products.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to onboard new vendors, including conducting site audits and developing robust plans.
- Communicate engineering blockers, operational challenges, project strategies, and dependencies clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Drive the development and implementation of new processes, recommend tools, and streamline existing workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Use strong communication skills to bridge project strategy with engineering issues and dependencies.
- Identify and manage risks/issues, and develop mitigation strategies with cross-functional teams.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Proven experience managing technical and operational programs in hardware or manufacturing environments
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Sound organizational and communication skills, with a focus on conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience with vendor onboarding, site audits, and managing risks in fast-paced environments.
- Technical aptitude demonstrated by a BS in CS/EE or equivalent practical experience in technical or quantitative fields.
- 8+ years of experience in project management, including hardware and software product releases, with familiarity in Agile and Waterfall release processes.
- Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors effectively.
- Ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.
The annual base salary range is: $145,000 - $259,000.
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
