Pure Storage is seeking a highly motivated Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our fast-paced Customer Experience (CX) Professional Services organization. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing the business processes across Installation Services, Advanced Project Delivery, and Business Critical Services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of technical expertise, analytical skills, and interpersonal abilities to manage complex enhancement requests, facilitate design thinking workshops, and work closely with business partners and developers in an agile environment.
The BSA will help evolve the backlog management process, prioritize system enhancements, and streamline operations to ensure our business partners’ priorities are transparent, aligned, and managed effectively despite competing demands and limited resources.
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
Stakeholder Engagement & Prioritization:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the CX Professional Services business partners and the development teams, managing relationships and driving alignment across multiple stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular collaboration sessions to enhance participation in the prioritization process, ensuring that all stakeholders are actively involved and that priorities are aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage expectations by communicating progress on enhancements and backlog prioritization, demonstrating how different business partner priorities intersect, conflict, or complement each other.
- Develop and maintain detailed visibility into the backlog to help business partners understand how their requests are progressing and their relative priority against other initiatives.
Process Design & Improvement:
- Analyze current business processes related to Professional Services operations (e.g., Installation Services, Advanced Project Delivery, and Business Critical Services), identify gaps, and propose solutions for process improvements.
- Work with business partners to define "As-Is" and "To-Be" process flows, using design thinking methodologies to drive innovation and improve business outcomes.
- Partner with PMs and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of key system and process improvements.
- Drive the implementation of enhancements to the backlog management and prioritization process, encouraging better communication and participation from all business partners.
Backlog & Enhancement Management:
- Collaborate closely with PMs, Product Owners, and technical teams to translate high-level business requirements into detailed user stories, epics, and actionable requirements for system enhancements.Utilize tools like Aha!, Jira, and ServiceNow to manage the backlog, capture requirements, and track the progress of system enhancements and new features.
- Conduct research and interviews to fully understand business needs, ensuring that every enhancement aligns with organizational goals and delivers measurable value.
- Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring that enhancements meet business partner expectations and are fully validated before deployment.
Design Thinking Champion & Agile Transformation:
- Act as a champion of design thinking, facilitating workshops and brainstorming sessions with business partners to help uncover deeper business needs, drive collaboration, and innovate solutions.
- Play an active role in the team's scaled agile transformation, helping to establish and reinforce agile practices and principles.
- Support the integration of design thinking and agile methodologies within the team, ensuring that processes are iterative, user-centric, and focused on delivering value quickly and efficiently.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst working with cloud-based enterprise applications in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience working directly with Professional Services organizations or other customer-facing business units with complex operational needs.
- Hands-on experience with backlog management tools like Aha!, Jira, and ServiceNow, and a proven ability to manage complex backlogs with competing priorities.
- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies, with experience facilitating workshops or helping teams adopt design thinking principles.
- Strong understanding of scaled agile frameworks (SAFe) and the ability to help guide a team through an agile transformation.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes, gather detailed requirements and translate them into actionable epics and user stories.
- Proven track record in expectation management, effectively communicating the status and impact of backlog items to a wide array of business partners.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and effectively manage cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with KeyedIn, Salesforce CPQ, or other subscription-based systems is a plus.Experience in managing product rules, validation rules, and workflow automation in Salesforce or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate change in an organization, particularly in the context of business transformation and agile adoption.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
The annual base salary range is: $130,000-$196,000.
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
