Pure Storage is looking for a Sr. Knowledge Content Operations Manager to provide tactical leadership for our knowledge and content management systems. This role is hands-on and focused on solving day-to-day issues, providing DITA training, and supporting the development of content reuse strategies, taxonomies, and troubleshooting. This role requires someone who thrives on tactical execution and hands-on problem solving, ensuring that content systems function smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis. You will work closely with writers and cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth system operations and the successful implementation of content strategies. This individual contributor role will report to the Performance, Education, and Knowledge (PEAK) team as part of the global Customer Experience (CX) organization comprising Technical Services, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Pure PEAK.
- Oversee the daily operations of content management systems, ensuring stability through user access management, maintenance, and optimization.
- Manage the testing and rollout of system upgrades, new releases, and bug fixes, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.
- Collaborate with IT, vendors, and teams to resolve system issues, minimizing disruptions.
- Lead system improvements and upgrades, working with vendors to evaluate and implement new features.
- Provide hands-on DITA training and support to authors, ensuring effective use of tools and adherence to best practices.
- Lead the onboarding process for authors, offering training on DITA tools and system-specific best practices.
- Implement content reuse strategies to ensure consistent content across outputs and reduce redundancy.
- Develop and maintain taxonomy and metadata to support scalability and organization within the DITA framework.
- Advise content creators on best practices for structuring, reuse, and integration.
- Work across departments to optimize content workflows and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Lead release management, system integrations, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring timely completion.
- Manage vendor relationships for bug fixes and feature evaluations.
- Address technical issues as they arise, providing fast, tactical solutions.
- Lead content cleanup and system restructuring projects to ensure efficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…
- BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years in content or knowledge management, with a focus on troubleshooting and tactical problem solving.
- Hands-on experience with DITA tools and content management systems, including author training and support.
- Expertise in content reuse, taxonomy creation, and metadata management to support scalability.
- Proven ability to manage content systems day-to-day, including user onboarding, access management, and UAT testing.
- Strong experience in project management, leading system upgrades and integrations.
- DITA expertise and familiarity with ServiceNow frameworks for knowledge management.
- Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, Google Suite, and Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with DITA OT framework development.
- Experience with Knowledge-Centered Services (KCS).
- Previous work in technical or customer support environments is a plus
We are a primarily in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work in the California, Utah or North Carolina office at least three days per week, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
The annual base salary range is: $100,000.00 - $218,000.00.
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
