PURE IN PRAGUE

We opened our R&D Second Home (besides the one in Silicon Valley) in Prague in January 2020 and since then we have experienced unbelievable growth. Our Engineers are solving complex engineering problems (from low-level system software to cloud computing) that help us innovate our cutting-edge products. Besides our world-class Software Engineering teams, we have many other talented colleagues working in Product Management, Sales, Finance, and HR to name a few. What’s more, we’ve developed these teams from talent across the globe. 

INFRASTRUCTURE SHARED SERVICES TEAM

The Infrastructure Shared Services (ISS) team is responsible for all of Pure Storage's engineering infrastructure, development environment and production services. We work with all engineering teams, including FlashBlade, FlashArray, Pure1 and others to provide reliable services that are used to develop new products and features. The team supports engineering in many different environments, from our multiple data centers to various public cloud, rolling out multiple different technical solutions using the latest in Pure technology

We are beefing up our internally engineering systems security as we are expanding globally.  So we are looking for a system security engineer who is looking for a challenge in what is essentially an opportunity to build something new.  Of course you will make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data. However, more importantly, you will define the space, processes, and integrations for the entire eng infrastructure. Qualified candidates have great experience, but it’s not required to be entirely in security systems engineering.  We need a lot of skills to fill out our engineering security team, so someone with strong systems engineering, devops, or SRE knowledge and experience are strongly encouraged to apply as well.Responsibilities
  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of Linux and Windows computer systems, networks and information
  • Identify and define system security requirements
  • Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Configure and build scanning tools for systems and network
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Build out log analysis tools to help uncover security incidents quickly
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
Requirements
  • Work experience as a InfoSec or DevSecOps engineer
  • Experience in building and maintaining security systems
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
  • Passion and diligence to keep on top of recent security breaches
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
