The FlashBlade team at Pure is seeking a technical software development manager to help lead product development and grow the overall engineering organization. With the FlashBlade product, we are building a scale-out all-flash file and object store, designed for the modern world. To really understand how our customers work with data, we are deeply immersed in AI, modern backup, log analytics with Splunk and Elastic, data pipeline with Kafka, cluster computing with Spark, and many more use cases.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Manage a team of software developers and tech leads to drive engineering productivity projects such as CI/CD, automation frameworks and developer tools for FlashBlade.
- Provide technical expertise through the product life cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of scalable build/test/release infrastructure.
- Partner and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders across software and hardware development, infrastructure and quality assurance teams.
- Define team strategy and roadmap for building developer tools and test infrastructure and improving the scale and efficiency of the systems.
- Provide the necessary technical direction and mentorship to your team to ensure product quality and on-time deliverables; to achieve successful project outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…
- 8+ years of software development experience (Python, C++, etc) with 3 plus years of technical hands-on leadership and people management experience.
- Experience in the design, implementation and delivery of scalable build/test/release infrastructure.
- Experience with developing automation frameworks and developer tools to increase developer and release velocity.
- Experience with test driven development integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with developing and shipping appliances is a plus.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
