FlashBlade Team at Pure

The FlashBlade team is responsible for FlashBlade and ObjectEngine products. With the FlashBlade product, we are building a scale-out all-flash file and object store, designed for the modern world. To really understand how our customers work with data, we are deeply immersed in AI, modern backup, log analytics with Splunk and Elastic, data pipeline with Kafka, cluster computing with Spark, and many more use cases. With the ObjectEngine product we are looking to modernize data protection by driving to a new architecture of F2F2C (Flash to Flash to Cloud). We are looking for a Forensics Engineer to join our FlashBlade Forensics team.
The Forensics Team is a Core Software Engineering team where the most interesting customer product issues are dissected and analyzed to provide our support teams with work-arounds and long-term mitigation strategies. We then apply lessons learned to our products and tools. The work is cross-discipline and each team member develops an understanding and expertise in many functional areas of our products and technologies.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead investigation and resolution of emergent problems that Product Support is unable to address
- Design and build tools to aid diagnosis of current issues
- Create next generation analytic tools that anticipate new problems
- Acquire a deep understanding of Pure's full software stack
- If you see a problem, you are empowered to pull engineers together and go fix it!
What You Bring To The Team
You already have a solid background in software development along with experience with linux, system administration, networking, and storage. A history of learning new technologies on the job indicates a strong fit for this role. Ideal candidates will come from Software Development, SDET or DevOps backgrounds. In addition, you may identify with some of the following:
- Natural curiosity, obsessive attention to detail and innate troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze complex systems and describe in simplest terms
- Experience with Big Data production environments
- Ability to speak and write without offending unless intended
- 3+ years relevant work experience
- We speak python, C++, and linux. What are your languages?
