About Us

Pure Storage was founded with the ambitious goal of revolutionizing the computing infrastructure industry.  Today we are building the data platform for the cloud era and we’ve accomplished the first step towards that goal by bringing to market the simplest and most reliable all-flash storage array in history. The full potential impact of our line of "Smart Storage" products is only beginning to be felt as customers discover the benefits and exciting applications that can be built on top of a Pure system.

For three straight years, Gartner has named Pure a leader in the Magic Quadrant for Solid-State Arrays. According to IDC, Pure has become a Top 10 data storage vendors faster than any other company in history. We continue to take market share while achieving record-setting customer satisfaction scores for the enterprise technology industry.  For more information, check out our corporate fact sheet.

Topping the Bay Area’s Best Places to Work lists for 5 years running, we’ve built a team that has a rich and diverse set of experiences and backgrounds.  Puritans have a passion for innovation, creativity, customer success, transparency, teamwork, and fun. We’re looking for talented people to join us on the journey.

The FlashArray Team

We build the industry leading FlashArray products: high-performance, highly available and durable all-flash storage designed for the most demanding business critical workloads.  Much of our competitive advantage comes our FlashArray software, wherein we are able to sustain a consistent, rapid pace of innovation, empowering employee growth and doing good for our customers!  In 2018, we extended the value of our FlashArray capabilities into the cloud with CloudSnap and Cloud Block Store for AWS, trailblazing new initiatives for our customers to leverage the agility of the public cloud for both traditional IT and cloud-native applications. Our customers are the most important part of our business and they love FlashArray for increasing performance and reliability of business applications while reducing costs and eliminating downtime with our Evergreen model.

Our Team

As our Chief Architect says, the best opportunities are in the middle of rapid change: you get the best chance to learn, move ahead, and influence the future. In 2019, one area going through massive transition is data storage.

Just like LCD monitors replaced big old CRTs, flash-based data storage systems are replacing traditional disk-based systems. Flash is much faster, power-efficient, dense and reliable than mechanical disk, and so the transition is inevitable. Furthermore, shifts towards hybrid cloud and network fabrics are impacting the world of data storage. Pure Storage is the visionary and leader in these transitions.

With the FlashArray product, we are building a scale-out all-flash block store, designed for the modern world. You will love it on the FlashArray team if you:

  • Want to understand how a modern applications work with data and how we can make them better.
  • Are ready to dive into a complex problem and be the one who will drive it to a resolution.
  • Enjoy working with distributed systems, algorithms, operating systems, Linux kernel, database internals, hypervisors, containers, compilers and hardware… or at least some of those.
  • Want to work with other great engineers and develop or refine skills that will serve your entire career.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment in an open office.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and build tools and automation to make testing and integration faster, simpler, and more effective.
  • Optimize the throughput and reliability of our Continuous Integration systems and processes
  • Improve and extend testing and infrastructure APIs
  • Working with cutting-edge technologies
  • Pure Storage (we build on top of our own leading-edge technology: FlashArray & Flashblade)
  • Developing Microservices using industry leading technology
      Docker
      Kubernetes
      Graylog

What you bring to the table:

  • You're fluent in a scripting language like Python, Ruby or Perl
  • Linux is a comfortable environment for you; maybe you've even got some DevOps/Sysadmin experience
  • You care about testing and you've practised Continuous Integration or Continuous Deployment
  • Containers and software-defined infrastructure
  • Configuration management systems like Puppet or Chef
  • Java or C++ development experience, especially related to build flows
  • Monitoring and alerting systems like Prometheus, Nagios,  and Grafana

No Storage? No Problem.

We look for talent and culture first, specific technologies second, so once you decide Pure is the right place for you, we will match you with the right project to start with.  Plus, we like people to have the ability to do different things and be constantly learning, so we encourage our engineers to move around to different teams and projects across the company.
