The EMEA SAM team is dedicated to Customer Success. Region based responsibilities focus on helping Strategic Accounts with every aspect of the Pure Support relationship. Working closely with other functions in Sales and Pre-Sales the SAM becomes a key contributor to the whole account team. In Parallel the SAM will work with support and other members of the SAM team to develop and deliver world-class offerings that help differentiate Pure from its competitors.

What You Will Be Doing

  • This is a very hands-on, customer and partner facing role which drives excellence in the delivery of Pure Storage service delivery in EMEA and is the pivotal go-to person between Customers, Partners, Sales and SE's and our Support and Operations Functions. The role is 100% engaged in all escalations, but equally importantly is involved pro-actively in cases within EMEA as a resource for the Support organization.
  • This is a Service Management' function reporting into the Technical Professional Services Organization, but representing three cross functional service functions within Pure, namely Support, Operations (break/fix) and Strategic Account Management
  • Participate in the creation of sales strategy and tactics and takes ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts.
  • Assisting customers with evaluations and benchmarks, system configurations, and system installations.
  • Delivering value and driving Business Critical and Professional Service sales, internally and to the customer
  • Work closely with Engineering and Product Management in helping to define product requirements and usability.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and subject matter expertise on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in the DAS, NAS and SAN product spaces.
  • Participate in the creation of sales strategy and tactics and takes ownership of technical responsibilities within customer accounts.

What You Bring To The Team

  • 5-10 years minimum experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking or systems solutions to a combination of large enterprise accounts and data centres.
  • Thorough understanding of the architecture, design and implementations of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions
  • Preparation and delivery of technical product and architecture presentation
  • Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs and RFIs
  • Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN)
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture a plus (LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, NoSQL alternatives)
  • UNIX OS, NFS file systems and UNIX distributed network environment
  • Installation/configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems
  • Knowledge of VMWare, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and general networking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BS in CS, EE or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
