Who Is The Support Team?

Pure's Tech Support organization is lead by Colin Mead with upwards of 200 employees across 4 locations in the United States, Europe and Asia. All our Support Centers are growing; Our US operation based in Utah is our largest, operating 24/7 with over 130 team members.

How Will You Contribute?

Pure Storage has Support centers in Mountain View CA, Lehi UT, Dublin Ireland & Singapore Asia. We are looking for a highly experienced Support Engineers. Our culture focuses on 5 key values – Persistence, Creativity, Teamwork, Ownership, and Customer First.

You will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis will include hardware, software, and environmental factors within our FlashBlade product line. As Technical Support Engineer, you utilize your deep technical expertise to tackle various technical problems. Successful Support Engineers will be able to build strong networks across different departments in the company.

 

  • You are self driven and confident normally requiring little instruction on day-to-day work or general instructions on new assignments.

  • Drive to understand customer’s impact and expectations.

  • Own problems, collaborate with internal teams and advocate for customer.

  • Answer and resolve support cases across all severity levels.

  • Report product issues.

  • Drive customer facing communications, ensuring the message is concise and professional.

  • Share and document knowledge e.g. ad-hoc and planned training, creation and upkeep of KB articles for internal only and customer use.

  • Mentor less experienced support engineers.

  • Multitask projects and customer support.

  • Leads large multi participant customer calls, including hot critical issues.

  • Weekend, holiday, and on call duties as required.

 

What Do We Want You to Bring to The Team?

  • Minimum five years of experience in customer-facing, technical support work.

  • Experience in supporting both hardware, and software products.

  • Proven technical troubleshooting skills in a complex multi-platform system-vendor environment.

  • Must Have: domain expertise in one or more of the following: NFS, S3, SMB, LDAP, (host-)networking.

  • Knowledge of on-premise/off-premise/hybrid cloud or data science (AI/ML) environments a plus.

  • Scripting and Python knowledge a positive.

  • Authoritative knowledge of technologies such as operating systems (Linux, VMware, Windows), both Cloud based and on premise , LANs & WANs, storage.

  • Knowledge and ability to fix networking, replication, performance and space issues.

  • Onsite customer support experience is an advantage.
