Are you a passionate and dedicated Mammographer looking for a rewarding opportunity in the healthcare industry? We are excited to announce an opening for a Mammographer at a leading NHS trust in the East Midlands.

As a Mammographer, you will play a crucial role in our patient's healthcare journey. Your expertise in operating mammography equipment to produce images of the breast will aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases.  If you are a certified Mammographer with a strong patient-focused approach, and you're looking to make a significant impact in the lives of patients, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients, explaining procedures and answering any questions they may have.
  2. Mammogram Procedures: Perform mammogram procedures, ensuring accurate positioning of the breast to optimise imaging of breast tissue.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and perform quality assurance tests for specialist X-ray equipment to ensure that it’s used safely within set parameters.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including details of the procedure and any notable observations.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and determine the best course of action for the patient.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Participate in audit processes and identify, report and resolve problems, supporting continuous improvement in quality for all radiographic aspects of breast screening service delivery.

Skills:

  1. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact with patients and healthcare professionals. The ability to explain complex medical procedures in simple terms is crucial.
  2. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and make decisions based on this. Mammographers must be able to identify abnormalities in mammograms and know when further testing may be necessary.
  3. Technical Skills: Comfortable with new technologies and working to comply with national guidelines and regulations. Mammographers must be proficient in using mammography equipment and maintaining it.
  4. Attention to Detail: Mammographers must pay close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of their work and the safety of their patients.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment or during procedures. Mammographers must be able to think quickly and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
  6. Continual Learning: The healthcare field is always evolving, so mammographers must be committed to learning about new technologies and techniques to provide the best care possible.
