Pulse have recently partnered with  one of the UK’s specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in South East London , which is easily accessible via public transport.

About the role:

As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working in both a 19-bed Highly Specialist Cognitive-Behavioural ward and a Neurorehabilitation ward with 18 beds. Providing specialist treatment to patients with physical and cognitive impairments resulting from an acquired / traumatic brain injury.

Your main responsibilities as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Provide assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
  • Devise evidence-led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary working to achieve the best outcomes for our patients
  • Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
  • Develop your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy assistants and students
  • Participate in service delivery audit and quality improvement initiatives
  • Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights

What we are looking for in a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience in working with aphasia, cognitive communication disorder, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia is essential
  • Specialist level dysphagia competency on RCSLT framework
