Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist with expertise in community rehabilitation to join our team in London. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with individuals living in the community, providing support and interventions to promote their independence, recovery, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a community rehabilitation team, including Occupational Therapists, therapy assistants, and support staff.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' functional abilities and needs within community settings, utilizing a holistic and client-centered approach.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on clients' goals and objectives, focusing on enhancing their independence and participation in meaningful activities.
  • Providing expert clinical guidance and supervision to team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including community mental health teams, social services, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and integrated care delivery.
  • Monitoring clients' progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Providing education and support to individuals and their families/caregivers on strategies for managing mental health challenges and maximizing their quality of life.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant post-qualification experience working as an Occupational Therapist in community rehabilitation, with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions within community settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centered care and promoting recovery-oriented practices.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services available to individuals with mental health needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients and the organization.
