Position Overview: As the Occupational Therapy Lead (Band 7), you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the Occupational Therapy service in Ilford. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide clinical leadership, guidance, and expertise to ensure the delivery of person-centered care and the achievement of positive outcomes for individuals with mental health needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in mental health care and contribute to the continued growth and development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and direction to the Occupational Therapy team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care in line with professional standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative Occupational Therapy interventions and programs to meet the diverse needs of individuals with mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated care and holistic treatment approaches.
  • Oversee the assessment, planning, and delivery of Occupational Therapy interventions, ensuring they are tailored to each individual's needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to Occupational Therapy staff, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Lead on service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and research activities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Occupational Therapy services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant experience working as an Occupational Therapist in mental health settings, with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in delivering a range of Occupational Therapy interventions to individuals with mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence positive change.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and delivering culturally responsive care.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
