Pulse have recently partnered with  one of the UK’s specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in Grantham, which is easily accessible via public transport.
 
About the role:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service.

Your main responsibilities as a Pharmacy Technician:

  • Dispense from prescriptions previously vetted by a Pharmacist to ensure the items are supplied accurately according to the prescriber's and/or pharmacist's instructions, and according to Trust Policies
  • Stock items repackaged and relabelled, before distribution to the wards
  • Dispensing from validated standard worksheets for extemporaneous and aseptic dispensing, before final release by a Pharmacist
  • Pre-filled chemotherapy syringes against a vetted prescription
  • Ingredients assembled for chemotherapy dispensing against a vetted worksheet
  • Manufacture, dispense and give advice on pharmaceutical products
  • Work efficiently and safely both on wards and in the department, under the supervision of a Pharmacist, adhering to all laid down policies and procedures

What we are looking for in a Pharmacy Technician:

  • GPHC registered
  • Experience in a hospital Pharmacy
  • Competence in dispensing of Cytotoxics, TPN,
  • Experience in the following : CIVA, CD’s and prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, TTO’s and stock supplies
