Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our esteemed team. In this leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to children and adolescents with mental health disorders, while also contributing to service development and innovation within the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, formulate treatment plans, and oversee the delivery of therapeutic interventions, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure integrated and holistic care delivery.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors and Trainee Psychiatrists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Engage with children, adolescents, and their families to develop collaborative treatment goals and support networks, promoting recovery and resilience.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and research activities aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and accessibility of mental health services for children and adolescents.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) as a Specialist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent qualification.
  • Substantial experience working as a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry within the NHS or equivalent healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to junior medical staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, and participation in research and academic activities.
