Position Overview: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (Band 5/6) to join our team of healthcare professionals working within an inpatient mental health setting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care to individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify individual needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at promoting independence and improving overall quality of life.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to address a range of occupational performance issues, including activities of daily living, vocational pursuits, and leisure activities.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and holistic care delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Engage in discharge planning and facilitate the transition of patients to community-based services as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Previous experience working within an inpatient mental health setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
