Position Overview: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (Band 5/6) to join our team of healthcare professionals working within an inpatient mental health setting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care to individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify individual needs, preferences, and goals.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at promoting independence and improving overall quality of life.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to address a range of occupational performance issues, including activities of daily living, vocational pursuits, and leisure activities.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and holistic care delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Engage in discharge planning and facilitate the transition of patients to community-based services as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous experience working within an inpatient mental health setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and colleagues alike.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
