Are you an Occupational Therapist who specialises in Neurology?

Our NHS client is looking for an experienced and caring Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join their Neuro team based in London. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours for an initial 3 month period. 

The appointed therapist will provide specialist acute occupational therapy assessment and treatment for a complex patient group, which could include patients who are acutely unwell, have fallen, have new trauma, have acute and chronic neurological conditions, and patients with complex social needs. The post holder will be required to provide and receive complex information and effectively communicate this with relevant other professional colleagues to promote a multidisciplinary problem-solving approach for acutely ill adult patients.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy
  • Have previous experience within an NHS neuro setting
  • Be able to develop a rapport with patients
  • Have excellent time management and communication skills

Duties within this role will include:

  • Carrying out brain injury assessments
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Providing support for carers and family – advice on care plans after discharge
  • Setting realistic client-centred goals to help with the development
  • Neuro splinting and casting
