Position Overview: As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement occupational therapy interventions that promote independence, recovery, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of individuals with mental health conditions to identify their strengths, challenges, and goals related to daily functioning and participation in meaningful activities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, evidence-based practice, and person-centered principles.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at improving functional abilities, developing coping strategies, and enhancing self-care, productivity, and leisure skills.
  • Provide education and support to individuals, families, and caregivers on adaptive techniques, environmental modifications, and community resources to facilitate recovery and community integration.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in mental health settings through placements, internships, or employment is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and adapt to diverse clinical environments.
