Position Overview: As a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry - Inpatient Services, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to individuals requiring inpatient treatment. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of treatment plans for adults with complex mental health needs. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to providing compassionate and effective care in an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough psychiatric assessments and formulating evidence-based treatment plans for individuals in inpatient settings.
- Leading and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and person-centered care.
- Overseeing the implementation of therapeutic interventions, medication management, and crisis interventions.
- Contributing to risk assessments and developing effective management strategies to ensure patient safety.
- Engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of inpatient services.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Specialist registration in Adult Psychiatry.
- CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent in Adult Psychiatry.
- Substantial experience as a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry, with a focus on inpatient services.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration within the clinical team and with external stakeholders.
