Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of individuals receiving inpatient mental health services. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting patients on their journey to recovery, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' occupational performance and functional abilities.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' needs and goals.
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address barriers to engagement in meaningful activities.
  • Providing therapeutic groups and individual sessions to support skill development and recovery.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care delivery and holistic support for patients.
  • Offering education and support to patients and their families regarding strategies for maintaining well-being and maximizing independence upon discharge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working in inpatient mental health settings,  at the Band 6 level.
  • Strong clinical skills in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Passion for promoting recovery and empowering individuals to achieve their goals.
