We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in General Adult Psychiatry to join a dynamic Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Cornwall. Job Description:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Community Mental Health Team, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to adults with mental health issues. The role involves a combination of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adult patients within the CMHT.
- Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to develop and implement care plans.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the development of service protocols.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with relevant clinical governance and quality assurance standards.
Requirements:
- Medical degree and full GMC registration.
- Completion of specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry.
- CCT or equivalent in General Adult Psychiatry.
- Relevant experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in a community mental health setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
