We are currently seeking a dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist with inpatient mental health experience to join our NHS client's reputable mental health unit in Doncaster on a locum basis. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients within an inpatient mental health setting. This locum role is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours for an ongoing period. 

 Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and developing personalized treatment plans to address the unique needs of patients with mental health conditions.
  • Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to promote recovery, independence, and well-being.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure holistic care delivery.
  • Facilitating therapeutic groups and activities to enhance socialization, coping skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families to promote understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience working as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in inpatient mental health settings.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and therapeutic skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the dynamic nature of mental health care.
